What is NASCAR?
NASCAR is America’s biggest stock-car racing series. Full-size cars race door-to-door at high speed on oval tracks, road courses, and a few street circuits. The top level is the Cup Series — the one most people mean when they say “NASCAR.”
- Stock cars = purpose-built race cars that still look a bit like street brands (Chevy, Ford, Toyota)
- Most races are 200–500 miles long and take 2–4 hours
- Drivers earn points every week; the season finishes with a playoff and a champion
